The winter shelter
From November through March, up to ten women live at Rebecca's Tent. Each resident has a warm bed, hot meals, showers, laundry, and access to computers: everything she needs to live with dignity while she works on what comes next.
Every resident meets weekly with our case manager and works actively toward employment and housing. That's not a hoop to jump through; it's the heart of the program. The structure works because it asks something of everyone, residents included, and because no one works on her next chapter alone.
Support that doesn't end in March
When a resident moves out into an apartment, a room, a fresh start, Rebecca's Tent goes with her. Our case management program provides former residents with ongoing support, community referrals, and practical help, from career and financial coaching to simply being a number she can call.
The goal isn't just a warmer winter. It's a stable life. That's why so many of our shelter residents move on to stable housing.
Day services: 80 women a year
The cold winter ends, but our work doesn't. Through our day services, dozens more women each year receive meals, showers and laundry, grocery and MARTA cards, and community referrals.
