Are you experiencing homelessness?

Rebecca's Tent is a free winter shelter for women 18 and older, and the only women's shelter in DeKalb County. We're open every year from November through March.

Need a bed? Call DeKalb County or City of Atlanta:

How to get a bed

Placement at Rebecca's Tent is only by referral through City of Atlanta or DeKalb County Continuum of Care. We aren't able to take walk-ins. If you come to us directly, we'll connect you to those entry points.

Once you have been referred to Rebecca's Tent, our Shelter Manager will contact you to begin the intake screening process. All clients must be pre-screened for eligibility.

What we provide, and what we ask

You'll have: your own bed, breakfast and dinner, and lunch/snacks to go, showers, laundry, computer access, and staff who will work with you, at your pace, on employment and housing.

What we ask: Women must be 18 or older, be sober, meet weekly with our case manager, and work with us towards employment and a housing plan. Everyone here is working on her next chapter. You won't do it alone.

Our first priority is the safety of our staff, residents, and volunteers. Rebecca's Tent has a no-tolerance policy for weapons, alcohol, and drugs. We serve single unaccompanied women; unfortunately, due to our space, we cannot provide shelter to children or men.

Year-round day services

If our beds are full, or if it isn't winter, we may have availability in our day services program, which provides community resources such as showers, laundry, and lunch. Services are available by appointment only. Please email or call us to schedule one.
